Meningitis outbreak hits the news –
October 10, 2012
We at Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center wish to assure our community that Los Robles Hospital has not purchased any steroid injectable medications from the compounding pharmacy recently named in the Meningitis outbreak.
To date, across the country, 119 people, including 9 deaths have occurred from epidural injections that contain the contaminated steroid medication.
Although doses of the steroid injections were shipped to California locations, Los Robles Hospital does not purchase steroid injections from the compounding pharmacy involved.
Should you or anyone you know who has recently had an epidural injection, and are experiencing symptoms of meningitis, contact your physician immediately. These symptoms may include headache, dizziness, fever, stiff neck, nausea and vomiting.
Los Robles cares for our community, and we want to foster the goal of our Infection Prevention Program, which is to, "Improve Community Health by Reducing the Risk of Infection and Its Related Outcomes."
