Los Robles Health System appoints Chief Executive Officer Phil Buttell
Healthcare leader Phil Buttell has been appointed as Los Robles Health System’s chief executive officer, effective Monday, April 8, 2024. In his role, Phil will oversee Los Robles’ three hospital campuses and four outpatient clinics while leading a team of 1,800+ employees, 600+ medical staff and 375+ volunteers.
Phil joins Los Robles Health System from HCA Healthcare’s MidAmerica Division where he has served as CEO of Menorah Medical Center since June of 2019. Phil has a passion for collaborating with employees and physicians to ensure high-quality healthcare. Under his leadership, Menorah Medical Center fostered and developed marquee programs with national and regional thought leaders and continued to expand access and service to the entire Kansas City metropolitan area and region.

Over the years, Phil has demonstrated an excellent track record in maximizing patient experience while focusing on quality clinical care. His enthusiasm and passion for the overall health and well-being of the communities he serves is at the forefront of all that he does and aligns with Los Robles’ rich history of community outreach initiatives.
Prior to his tenure at Menorah Medical Center, Phil served as the chief operating officer at HCA Healthcare’s Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri for 10 years. During his time at Centerpoint, Phil played an instrumental role in the operations, growth and development of the 285-bed hospital and Level Two Trauma Center. Phil received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rockhurst University, a Master of Health Services Administration degree from the University of Kansas, School of Medicine and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas, School of Law.
