Thousand Oaks, CA, August 18, 2016 – Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center recently hit a significant milestone when their neuroendovascular team performed the hospital’s 500th procedure. Los Robles Hospital launched the neuroendovascular program in 2014 after analyzing the need within the community. The program’s multidisciplinary team of professionals utilizes state-of-the-art technology and clinical practices in neuroimaging, endovascular device development and advanced techniques in image guided minimally invasive surgery. Some of the conditions treated include aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), stroke, and brain and spinal tumor embolization.

As Ventura County’s only neuroendovascular program, community members in need of neurovascular treatment can now receive care close to home and avoid complications that are presented when swift intervention does not occur. In many cases where “time is brain,” every minute these injuries are left untreated could result in further complications, long-term deficits, and slower recovery times.

“This is a significant achievement for Los Robles and a fantastic benefit to our community,” said Dr. Muhammed Taqi, critical care and vascular neurologist. “It is extremely rewarding to know that we can treat patients locally and provide advanced, effective treatments in these areas.”

The Los Robles Neuroendovascular team will be celebrating this achievement by holding a reception for patients and staff. Attendees will be able to witness testimonials provided by patients that have been treated in the program, as well as physicians that have provided such treatments.
