Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center recently acquired the da Vinci Xi Surgical System to further advance their capabilities for complex minimally invasive surgical procedures. The da Vinci Xi complements their expert team of surgeons by enabling them to make significantly smaller incisions with greater precision and ease.

Los Robles Hospital has established itself as a leader in robotic surgery by performing more than 1,000 procedures using this state-of-the-art technology. This new addition will make Los Robles Hospital the first hospital in Ventura County to acquire the advanced Xi system.

Controlled 100% by a surgeon who sits at a console inside the operating room, the da Vinci Xi provides efficient access throughout the abdomen and chest. The da Vinci Xi System expands upon core system features, including wristed instruments, 3D-HD visualization, intuitive motion, and an ergonomic design. The da Vinci Xi System's immersive 3D-HD vision system provides surgeons a highly magnified view, virtually extending their eyes and hands into the patient.

“Placing the most advanced surgical tools in the hands of our talented robotic surgery team, is a pairing that will greatly benefit our patients through unmatched precision and excellent outcomes,” said Dr. Kyle Himsl, urologic surgeon. “Our community is fortunate to have access to the expertise of our surgeons, and the most advanced robotic surgical system that is available.”

The robotic program at Los Robles includes surgeries for prostate, kidney, colon, cancer, gallbladder, hernia, uterus, thoracic, and pelvic floor. The program has recently expanded to include more complex conditions that would previously require patients to travel outside of the Conejo Valley to receive treatment.
