New Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, which assign A, B, C, D and F letter grades to hospitals nationwide and provide the most complete picture of patient safety in the U.S., were announced today by The Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog. Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center was the only hospital in Ventura County to receive an “A” ranking, and one of 823 hospitals named among the safest hospitals in the United States.
“Here at Los Robles Hospital, we are dedicated to the rigorous standards, best practices, and monitoring of clinical outcomes so that our patients receive the best care possible,” said Natalie Mussi, President and CEO of Los Robles Hospital. “I thank our committed physicians, staff, and volunteers for this well-deserved recognition and acknowledgement that we provide the highest level of quality in Ventura County.”
“Hospitals that earn top marks nationally in the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, ‘have achieved the highest safety standards in the country,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “That takes commitment from every member of the hospital staff, who all deserve thanks and congratulations when their hospitals achieve an ‘A’ Safety Grade.”
Developed under the guidance of an Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. Grades are calculated by top patient safety experts, are peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
