As wildfires continue to devastate communities across Southern California, Los Robles Health System has received critical support from nurses and staff across the HCA Healthcare Far West Division. This extraordinary collaboration relieves Los Robles colleagues impacted by the fires, allowing them to focus on their families, safety and recovery.

Multiple nurses from Regional Medical Center in San Jose, Riverside Community Hospital in Riverside, and MountainView and Sunrise Hospitals in Las Vegas have answered the call to step in and support patient care at Los Robles. These selfless healthcare professionals have left their communities to assist during this crisis, embodying the true spirit of compassion and unity.

“We are proud to be a part of HCA Healthcare and are committed to showing up for our patients, communities and each other,” stated Phil Buttell, CEO of Los Robles Health System. “Out of an abundance of caution, nurses from our fellow HCA Healthcare facilities in Riverside, San Jose and Las Vegas have come to lend a helping hand and support Team Los Robles as we monitor the fires burning in Los Angeles County and assess the needs of our team. The loss that is affecting our surrounding communities is devastating and we stand by them during these difficult times,” stated Buttell.

The wildfires have disrupted the lives of many Los Robles team members, with some losing their homes, experiencing power outages or being forced to evacuate. The arrival of nurses from sister facilities has allowed local staff to focus on their personal circumstances while ensuring seamless, high-quality patient care.

“The spirit of unity and compassion across our hospitals is truly inspiring,” said Annette Greenwood, Chief Nursing Executive for HCA Far West Division. “Our nurses have always shown remarkable dedication to caring for those in need, and this call to action is no exception. Their willingness to step up during this crisis demonstrates the very best of healthcare professionals. We not only show up for our patients but also for our colleagues when it matters most.”

The wildfires underscore the importance of collaboration during emergencies. HCA Healthcare’s Far West Division has a long-standing tradition of coming together in times of need, and this wildfire response is a powerful testament to that commitment.

“The deployment of nurses from Las Vegas, San Jose and Riverside hospitals underscores HCA’s commitment to provide exceptional care during crises, not just for the communities it serves but also for its fellow healthcare providers,” said HCA Far West Division President Jackie Van Blaricum. “This collaborative effort highlights the strength of the HCA Healthcare network and the resilience of its caregivers showing up for their patients and community during a time of need. Together, we show up — because that’s what families do.”
