Since 1968, The Birthing Center at Los Robles Regional Medical Center has been committed to helping parents in Ventura and Los Angeles counties prepare for their baby's arrival in a safe and nurturing environment.
We are proud to be designated as a Blue Distinction® Centers+ for Maternity Care by Blue Shield of California, recognizing our expertise and commitment to quality care. Our birthing center offers a full range of maternity and childbirth services, from specialized care for high-risk pregnancies to childbirth classes and support groups.
We provide dedicated operating suites for those who require a cesarean section. If your baby needs advanced care, specialists at our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) are ready 24/7 to care for your baby's special needs.
Our specialists are committed to helping you achieve the best outcomes. Our multidisciplinary team consists of OB/GYN physicians, neonatologists, and anesthesiologists who are available on-site 24/7. Additionally, we have dedicated maternal-fetal medicine specialists, including nurses who are fetal heart monitor certified through the Association of Women's Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses.
Maternity Tour
We invite you to experience an in-person maternity tour to view our hospital amenities in the labor and delivery and mother baby units.
Ventura maternity and childbirth services
At Los Robles, we support the bonding experience between mom and baby with skin-to-skin contact and rooming-in. This includes access to lactation consultants and education to support breastfeeding and healthy bonding between mother and baby for the first feedings.
Our hospital welcomes doulas at the bedside. We are surrogate-friendly and inclusive of all types of families. Additionally, we support co-parents, support persons or coaches to be in the delivery unit with the expectant mother at all times.
Labor and delivery rooms
We offer spacious birthing rooms and mother-baby suites with various amenities for comfort, including birthing balls and peanut balls, glider rockers, refrigerators and private bathrooms stocked with postpartum recovery essentials.
Each private birthing room provides a home-like setting equipped with a full bathroom, a sleeping area for support persons, and state-of-the-art technology, including wireless fetal monitoring so mothers can move freely during labor. We also provide an in-room infant warming system to make your baby comfortable. After delivery, recovery takes place in our mother-baby suites.

Our Mother-Baby Suites offer our families a spacious patient recovery room and living area to cherish the first days of your little one's arrival. Here's what you can expect with a stay in our mother-baby suites:

Should you have questions on pricing, our financial counselors are available to discuss this process with you.
Maternity classes and hospital tours
We are proud to offer education classes to help you gain the confidence you need for the arrival of your new baby. From childbirth preparation classes and breastfeeding classes to infant CPR and beyond, our expert educators offer the latest information and resources.

Neonatal intensive care
Our birthing center provides advanced neonatal care for premature and critically ill infants at our Level III NICU. This advanced care nursery has the equipment and specialized staff to care for the most vulnerable of babies – including those that require surgery — 24 hours a day. Our 12-bed unit is staffed with neonatologists, neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists.
Our NICU is equipped with 24/7 video streaming capabilities that parents can access through a secure online portal. This technology can help reduce the stress and anxiety mothers may feel while being separated from their newborns.
